Varsity Head Coach-Nathan Jerome
After over 20 seasons of coaching all ages and levels of basketball I am excited to serve as the leader of the Chargers program. For the past three seasons (2021-2024) I served as the varsity assistant at Dakota Ridge High School. In those three years we only lost one league game, won the 5a Jeffco league twice, won the team sportsmanship award, played twice in the Coliseum for the Elite Eight and had a player that was voted 5a Jeffco MVP and second team all-state. When I am not coaching I serve as the director of a local private family foundation. My wife Vali and I have four teenage children.

Junior Varsity Head Coach-Joel Pavelis
Coach Pavelis has coached various levels of basketball for 14 years, including the freshman girls at Chatfield last year. Prior to that he was the boys varsity coach at Addenbrooke Classical Academy in Lakewood. In addition, he coached at Mountain Vista High School and also led their Gold Crown feeder program for several years. He prides himself on leading well rounded student athletes and strives to have players set and meet both individual and team goals. Coach is passionate about creating a great team culture and building a winning program. Coach Pavelis is a licensed real estate agent with a focus on both residential and commercial properties. He has been married for 25 years and has two kids. Hobbies include basketball, golf, softball, and traveling.

Level III Head Coach-Asaiah McCoy
I've come to Chatfield with both a lot of playing experience playing at different levels and coaching. The previous two years I was the boys Head Varsity Coach at Jefferson Sr. High School. Before I that I was assistant for the girls program at the varsity level. My fulltime job is working with youth that have been incarcerated. This year I became a father which keeps me busy off the court. I am dedicated and willing to teach youth to become better athletes but also better individuals who can make something for themselves in this world.

Lead Assistant-Ethan Nkana
This is my 10th season as a high school basketball coach in Colorado. Besides my years of coaching experience I have a profound love for the game and a personal mission of supporting the development of young men. Beyond the basketball court, I am a local business owner who has been a part of the Denver community for more than one decade. Outside of work, I dedicate much of my time to volunteering for organizations like the Denver Art Museum, Future Business Leaders of America, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. I share my life with my wonderful wife, Liz, an assistant principal at a local high school. Together, we love traveling around the state of Colorado, checking out new and obscure mountain towns with our two dogs.
I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Engineering Physics in 2022. In the fall of 2024 I joined the new A.P. Physics program and teach engineering at Chatfield High School. I have been an assistant basketball coach at Jefferson Academy from 2022 to 2024 and also coached softball, golf, and baseball. Alongside teaching and coaching, I am working on obtaining my master's in physics from Texas A&M Commerce, and I help conduct research at the Colorado School of Mines. I love attending sports activities and supporting all Denver professional sports teams in my free time. I enjoy time with friends, playing in different adult sports leagues, and supporting all Denver professional sports teams in my free time.
Level III Assistant-Steve Maestas
Steve was born and raised in Colorado. He has been married to his beautiful wife Allicia for 25 years and has a 21 year old daughter and a son who is senior at Chatfield. Steve has worked with high school students as a student ministries pastor for 20 years. As for coaching, Steve has been an assistant basketball coach for 3 years and a head volleyball coach for five years.
