Chatfield Elite Program
The Chatfield Boys Basketball program competes at the 6A level in the highly competitive Jeffco League. We strive to build a program that consistently competes with the top teams in the state. To achieve that goal, player development cannot begin when athletes arrive at Chatfield in 9th grade. We must intentionally develop players at the elementary and middle school levels so they are prepared for high-level high school basketball.
To continue strengthening our program, the Chatfield feeder program will move toward a more proactive and intentional development model beginning with the 2026–2027 season. Our goal is to provide motivated players with opportunities to develop their skills, compete against strong feeder and club programs, and better prepare for the expectations of Chatfield basketball.
As part of these efforts, we are adding the following to our already strong feeder program:
- Player Assessments - In August, we will offer four assessment opportunities for players entering 4th–8th grade. Players are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible to allow for a thorough evaluation process. Based on these assessments, players may be invited to participate on the top team(s) within their grade level. If you are not placed on a Chatfield Elite Team, players can still be a part of one of our Chatfield feeder teams playing in the JPS league.
- Coach Development & Program Alignment - Coaches of these top teams will work closely with the high school staff through coaching clinics and ongoing collaboration. Teams will begin implementing elements of our offensive and defensive philosophies to help prepare players for the transition into the Chatfield high school program.
- High-Level Competition & Team Structure - Our goal is for these top teams to practice consistently together and compete in the highest-level leagues available for their age group. We believe competing against strong competition is essential for long-term player and program development.
- Extra Training & Ability to Compete while with a Club - Players on these teams will be offered additional training sessions. We also will do our best to work with players that are also competing for a club team to still play for the Chatfield feeder team.
Many of these teams will still play in the JPS winter league and also play in Gold Crown. There will be additional fees to be part of the Chatfield Elite Program.
Assessment Dates & Times:
- 5th - 6th Grade Boys 1:00pm - 2:30pm August 15th, 22nd and 29th
- 7th - 8th Grade Boys 2:30pm - 4:00pm August 15th, 22nd and 29th
- 5th - 6th Grade Boys 2:00pm - 3:30pm August 23rd
- 7th - 8th Grade Boys 3:30pm - 5:00pm August 23rd
- Bring water, ball and wear a reversible jersey
